Humankind has the gift of free will, and the possibility of choosing between good and evil. This freedom of conscience embodies appropriate human acts, and is the basis of exercising prudence. As Americans, we are fortunate to be living in a country embodying the belief that every person is created in the image of God, and has the inalienable right to be recognized as a free and responsible being. This responsibility cannot be taken lightly.
Freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction. We didn't pass it to our children in the bloodstream. It must be fought for, protected, and handed on for them to do the same, or one day we will spend our sunset years telling our children and our children's children what it was once like in the United States where men were free.
